As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will own and improve the AWS infrastructure platform, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and developer environments.
You will lead the migration from AWS CDK/CDKTF to Pulumi, build reusable infrastructure components and improve deployment reliability, observability and cost efficiency across multiple AWS environments.
- Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
- Build and maintain reusable AWS infrastructure components using Pulumi (TypeScript).
- Migrate existing AWS CDK/CDKTF infrastructure to Pulumi, ensuring safe migration without recreating production resources.
- Manage AWS infrastructure including ECS Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, WAF, VPC, IAM, SQS, DynamoDB and RDS.
- Build and maintain ephemeral environments for developers and pull requests.
- Optimise infrastructure performance, resource utilisation and cloud costs.
- CI/CD & Automation
- Extend internal deployment CLI using TypeScript and Pulumi Automation API.
- Build and maintain GitHub Actions workflows, reusable actions and deployment automation.
- Implement OIDC, merge queues, approval workflows and concurrency controls.
- Manage release pipelines across Dev, Test, UAT and Production environments.
- Monitoring & Reliability
- Implement observability standards using Datadog, including APM, logging, monitoring, dashboards and SLOs.
- Improve distributed tracing across AWS Lambda and ECS services.
- Maintain deployment reliability, incident runbooks and root cause analysis.
- Improve deployment efficiency, targeting under 15 minutes per domain.
- Collaboration & Technical Leadership
- Work closely with Platform Leads, engineers and product teams to deliver infrastructure initiatives.
- Review code, provide technical guidance and coach engineers on IaC and infrastructure best practices.
- Document architecture decisions, technical designs and deployment guidelines.
- Coordinate infrastructure migrations and communicate technical risks.
