About the role

This is an opportunity to build AI that matters and to see the difference your work makes. As an AI Product Engineer based in Vietnam, you’ll develop production-ready AI products and agentic systems that help Australian businesses make smarter decisions, manage risk and trade with confidence. You’ll work across applied AI, software engineering and product delivery, turning customer and business problems into secure, reliable and scalable solutions.

 

You’ll contribute hands-on across the full development lifecycle, from discovery and technical design through frontend and backend implementation, evaluation, deployment and production support. Working with Product, Engineering, Data and Infrastructure teams across Vietnam and Australia, you’ll build agentic workflows, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, APIs, integrations and customer-facing AI experiences.

For the right person, this role offers the chance to deepen your expertise in agentic AI, RAG, LLM evaluation and production engineering while solving meaningful problems in a risk-sensitive environment. You’ll learn from experienced engineers, contribute reusable patterns and develop the practical judgement needed to deliver observable, secure and high-quality AI systems.

Responsibilities

Some of your responsibilities include and are not limited to:

  • Design, build and optimise AI-powered product features, APIs, RAG solutions and agentic workflows for customer and business use cases
  • Contribute hands-on across the AI development lifecycle, including technical design, frontend and backend implementation, testing, evaluation, deployment and production support
  • Build agentic systems using prompt and context engineering, tool calling, memory, external APIs and integrations with internal business systems
  • Create evaluation datasets and test cases, monitor production behaviour, and improve the accuracy, safety, robustness and reliability of AI systems
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested Python and TypeScript code, and contribute to code reviews, documentation and reusable engineering patterns
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, Infrastructure and business stakeholders across Vietnam and Australia to clarify problems and deliver practical solutions
  • Document technical decisions, methodologies and findings, and share knowledge through team demonstrations and collaboration forums

Qualifications

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and practical experience building modern applications, backend services or APIs
  • Hands-on experience applying LLMs and Generative AI technologies to product or business problems
  • Practical understanding of agentic patterns, prompt and context engineering, tool calling, memory and model integration
  • End-to-end understanding of RAG, including chunking, embedding models, retrieval approaches, evaluation metrics and vector databases
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable and well-tested code and contribute to code reviews, CI/CD and production support
  • Awareness of AI safety, explainability, bias, security and reliability considerations in production environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity and the ability to work proactively through ambiguity with guidance from senior engineers
  • Clear written and verbal English and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across locations

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 2–5 years of software engineering, machine learning engineering or applied AI experience
  • Experience building AI-powered applications, agentic workflows, customer-facing features or internal productivity tools
  • Practical experience with RAG or GraphRAG, prompt engineering, LLM evaluation or model optimisation
  • Experience integrating AI models with APIs, business systems and production application workflows
  • Experience deploying applications or models on AWS, GCP or Azure using Docker
  • Familiarity with MLOps or LLMOps tools and practices, including observability, evaluation and automated delivery
  • Full-stack software development experience, or experience with computer vision, OCR or time-series use cases
  • Experience working in Scrum, Kanban or hybrid delivery environments
