The Legal Manager APAC is responsible for overseeing and managing the legal affairs of the CBTW Group's entities across the APAC region. The role requires ensuring compliance with local and international legal frameworks, providing strategic legal counsel to management and internal teams, and handling a wide range of corporate and commercial legal matters, including cross-border transactions. The position involves leading the APAC Legal Team, collaborating with external corporate secretary firms, establishing efficient legal processes, and supporting the Group's growth objectives.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) required; a higher degree (LL.M) is preferred.
Admission to a Bar Association is an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with a focus on international transactions and corporate law.
Proven experience in managing cross-border contracts and negotiations.

1. Legal Management: Oversee and manage legal matters for the Group's entities across APAC. Serve as the primary point of contact for legal consultations sought by senior management and internal teams. Ensure all legal matters align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
2. Contract Management:
Draft, review, negotiate, and manage various contracts, including cross-border agreements. Advise on contractual risks and mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with foreign clients and suppliers to ensure seamless contract execution. Participate in negotiations and support decision-making processes.
3. Corporate Services:
Ensure that corporate records, registrations, and governance documents are maintained and updated.
Manage relationships and collaborate with external corporate secretary firms.
Support corporate structuring and restructuring activities as required.
4. Compliance & Regulatory Affairs:
Track and ensure adherence to statutory compliance obligations across APAC jurisdictions.
Develop and implement compliance frameworks and provide training where necessary.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and manage compliance audits.
5. Legal Awareness & Training:
Develop and implement initiatives to enhance legal awareness across the organization.
Oversee the preparation of monthly legal newsletters and conduct annual legal research initiatives.
Provide legal training and workshops to internal stakeholders.
6. Information Security Management System (ISMS):
Ensure legal compliance with ISMS standards and policies. Develop and maintain legal policies related to information security.
Support audits and regulatory assessments in collaboration with relevant teams.
7. Team Management:
Lead and manage the APAC Legal Team effectively.
Develop and implement team policies and operational processes.
Mentor and guide team members, focusing on their professional growth and performance management.
8. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A):
Provide legal support for M&A transactions when they arise.
Conduct legal due diligence and assist with transaction structuring and execution.
