As a Kafka Developer, you will join our Software Engineering service line, where we are engineering scalable, innovative software solutions that empower and redefine industries.

What is your profile?

You: 

Experience and Expertise:

  • Extensive experience in the implementation, optimization, and management of Apache Kafka environments.
  • In-depth understanding of Kafka architecture, configurations, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with both Kafka Community and Kafka Licensed versions.
  • Expertise in Kafka administration, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with Kafka integrations, security, and monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of related technologies and tools, such as Zookeeper, Kafka Streams, and Schema Registry

Communication and Training Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven capability to deliver effective training and produce clear, comprehensive documentation.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

What is your role? 

You will be part of a journey where you will have two impacts: a client impact and an internal impact. For the internal impact, based on your skills and time, you will be joining our internal community at CBTW, to share knowledge and best practices. For the client impact, tasks can vary depending on the client and the project, but as a Kafka Developer, you will mainly: 

  • Conduct a thorough review of the existing Apache Kafka setup of the existing CMS 2.0.

  • Provide detailed documentation of the current Kafka environment in the existing CMS 2.0, including architecture diagrams, configuration settings, and integration points.

  • Identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.

  • Analyze the existing Kafka setup and propose enhancements for performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Provide recommendations for tuning Kafka configurations, optimizing resource usage, and improving overall system efficiency.

  • To formula a Migration Plan on the Kafka data migration from existing platform to the tech refresh platform with no to minimum downtime and impact to Production Operations

  • Assist in setting up Kafka services in the new tech refreshed environment as part of the tech refresh for CMS 2.0.

  • Migrate existing topics from the existing CMS 2.0 Kafka services into the new tech refresh environment during the setup.

  • Ensure that the setup aligns with best practices and integrates seamlessly with other systems.

  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for both new and existing Kafka services.

  • Address any issues related to performance, configuration, or integration and offer solutions to resolve them.

  • Remediate any security related fixes required on the Kafka environment according to the customer’s security policies.

  • Develop and deliver training sessions to the team on Kafka services, including operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • Provide comprehensive knowledge transfer to ensure the internal team can effectively manage and operate the Kafka environment.

  • Develop a transition plan for upgrading from Kafka Community Edition to a licensed version.
